Raiders DE Maxx Crosby Never Stops Working, Talks “Sack Summit”

Sun Jun 06, 2024, 8:14pm

If there’s one thing about Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby you need to know, it’s that it never stops for him; the man is constantly working. Even as June comes to an end, No. 98 attended the annual “Sack Summit.”

When we say that Crosby has a “relentless motor,” it’s not an empty compliment. No one outworks the “Condor,” and with training camp a few weeks away, the man is still putting in work. This weekend, Crosby participated in the pass-rushing summit at UNLV. Crosby, however, wasn’t the only Raiders defender leading the way and making the most of Saturday’s festivities. Malcolm Koonce, Tyree Wilson, and John Jenkins, among others, were on site.

Raiders DE Maxx Crosby talks about the “Sack Summit” and its importance…

While speaking with the media during the event, Crosby opened up about Saturday’s significance.

“For me, I come here with an open mind and just be a sponge of information and try to take at least one thing, or three things, or five, however many things I can do and actually go and work and practice that and apply it and have it translate to my game. So, I’ve learned so much over the years; I’ve been coming here for, I think, five years now. So, yeah, just an honor to be a part of it.”

Crosby was sure to give kudos to former Raiders assistant Rob Marinelli who he’s often quoted as being an important teacher in his career. Coming off a season where many felt he should’ve garnered serious merit to be Defensive Player of the Year, Crosby will look to build off last season’s momentum. Plugging in Christian Wilkins in the middle could certainly take Crosby’s production to the next level, though he had career-highs in sacks (14.5) and tackles for a loss (23). Let’s face it, losing hurts his case each season. Maybe Antonio Pierce and Co. will finally rectify this and give Crosby his redemption arc in 2024.

In the meantime, learning from the best, such as Warren Sapp and Von Miller, never gets old. More importantly, ensuring that players like Wilson follow in Crosby’s footsteps (as he did on Saturday) will pay dividends in the future.
