Let’s face it, Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss has little love for the Las Vegas Raiders, so when speaking about All-Pro Davante Adams, he was quite forthright in his advice.
In case you weren’t aware, Moss has quite a history with the Silver and Black. He had two ill-fated seasons (2005–06) with the team back in Oakland; it was a move that proved then-owner Al Davis could still swing a home run in the offseason. Unfortunately, one man alone, especially a wideout, cannot fix an offense. Adams has also demonstrated this; despite his best efforts, the team’s performance has fallen short. As a result, the Raiders have achieved little to no success during his tenure.
Did Randy Moss take a jab at the current Raiders?
Moss, for his part, experienced the same thing. The Raiders marred any hopes of Moss becoming part of Raiders lore with a 4-12 season and a 2-14 campaign thereafter. Instead, the Raiders shipped him off to the New England Patriots, where he has made every effort to distance himself from the Raiders. Do you recall him verbally saying as much to fans once during a live broadcast?
Fast forward to this week, and Moss had some advice for Adams and his current predicament. As we all know, the Raiders aren’t likely contending for a Super Bowl with so many questions on offense. In an interview with Kay Adams, Moss spoke about the notion that Adams should chase a ring—obviously alluding to the idea of a reunion with Aaron Rodgers.
“He’s made his money, he’s made enough money, I won’t say he’s made all of his money. He’s made enough money, so for him to chase a ring, I mean, I chased one. My advice to him is just keep being yourself man and go get a ring.”
Chase a ring, he says. How did that work out, Mr. Moss? Let’s face it, this isn’t the NBA; the concept of ring chasing rarely works out in the NFL.
Regardless of what Moss may think, Adams isn’t going anywhere at the moment. This week, his representation made that clear: Adams is a Raider, unless otherwise noted.
