Welcome back for some more AFC West betting picks. Last week, we had a solid performance in the two games from the weekend. This week, we’ve got picks on all four matchups, including the Christmas Day tilt. Let’s get into this week’s picks.
All lines and odds come via DraftKings.
AFC West: Betting Week 17 Matchups
Chiefs @ Steelers
Under 44 (-110)
Patrick Mahomes Over 0.5 Interceptions Thrown (-110)
Chiefs to Score 21-30 Points (+140)
Parlay Odds: +1300
This Christmas, Netflix joins the litany of platforms you need to subscribe to in order to watch every NFL game. If the Tyson vs. Paul fight is any indicator of how that will go, you still might not be able to watch it anyway. That might not be a bad thing.
Expect an ugly game played in cold weather between two teams that boast great defenses without a ton of offensive firepower. Points will be a premium and there will likely be several turnovers. That being said, the Kansas City Chiefs should still be able to get over 20 against a Pittsburgh defense that was carved up a bit by Philadelphia and Baltimore over the last two weeks.
Chargers @ Patriots
Chargers -4 (-112)
Patriots to Score 11-20 Points (+125)
Chargers to Score 21-30 Points (+135)
Parlay Odds: +465
The Los Angeles Chargers should have no problem covering four points against a hapless New England Patriots team. Last week, New England somehow struggled to stay within a field goal of a Buffalo Bills team quarterbacked by a one-handed Josh Allen. They won’t have such luck playing against Justin Herbert.
With a win this week, the Chargers can secure a playoff spot. The Patriots are on to 2025. Expect Los Angeles to waltz out of New England with a win somewhere in the realm of 24-17.
Broncos @ Bengals
Over 49.5 (-112)
Bo Nix 250+ Passing Yards (+160)
Broncos ML (+150)
Parlay Odds: +700
The odds on this game are incredibly suspicious. Yes, the Cincinnati Bengals have won three straight and are playing at home. Keep in mind, they have played three terrible teams and have not looked great in any of those games.
Cincinnati’s defense is still cooked. Bo Nix will light them up in a way that Cooper Rush, Will Levis, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson could not. On the other side, Denver’s defense should be able to at least slow down Joe Burrow and company. Hammer the Broncos in a somewhat high-scoring matchup.
The worst that the AFC West has to offer…
Raiders @ Saints
Under 37.5 (-108)
Raiders -1.5 (-108)
Over 10.5 Total Punts (+105)
Picks cannot be parlayed.
Don’t worry, Raider Nation, it’s almost over. Just two more putrid games to go. That being said, it is going to be a long Sunday afternoon.
As bad as the Las Vegas Raiders are, the New Orleans Saints are a dumpster fire. Everyone is hurt, including one extremely polarizing former Raiders quarterback. Meanwhile, Las Vegas seems bound and determined to play its way out of a top three, or even a top five, draft pick. The Raiders should comfortably cover a point and a half in an ugly, low-scoring punt fest.
