Colorado QB Responds To Raiders Fan Responsible For “Tank For Shedeur” Sign

Talk revolving around the Las Vegas Raiders and their future regarding the quarterback position continues to make headlines. One name in particular has Raider Nation buzzing; we’re referring to Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders.

If you recall, when the Silver and Black were playing against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football recently, one fan went viral. Though some argue it’s more of an embarrassment than something to be proud of, that particular Raiders fan hoisted a sign that has since become a calling card of sorts. That’s right, we’re talking about “Tank for Shedeur.”

Should the Raiders “Tank For Shedeur” or not?

Rather than rooting for a win, many within Raider Nation have embraced the notion of tanking. To clarify, NFL players and coaches don’t tank with so much at stake. However, the frequent turnover of quarterbacks, which Raiders fans have witnessed for almost a generation, has led them to this situation. The team needs a star, a transformational player—and to many, that player is Sanders.

The image of the fan gained significant attention across news and social media circles, eventually reaching Shedeur himself. On his podcast, “2Legendary With Shedeur Sanders,” the future NFL signal-caller called the entire situation “crazy.”

“Whenever you see a fan take his time out of the day to bring that sign and then it’s on TV and everything, it’s just like, dang, this is crazy. It feels real. It’s real now.”

By calling it real, we can only assume he’s referring to the fact that the Raiders’ fanbase desperately wants to see him play in Las Vegas. Or, simply the fact he’s getting attention on a different scale; the notion that a fanbase wants their NFL squad to lose on purpose for a chance at landing his services probably messes with Shedeur’s head.

Regardless of your stance on the Sanders debate, the Raiders will select a special player in the draft next year—it could be Sanders, Cam Ward, or even Travis Hunter. It’s still only December; the pre-draft shenanigans are likely only to get crazier between now and when Sanders finally hears his name called—whether it’ll be the Raiders remains to be seen.
