Raiders Fans On AP: “Needs More Time” While Apathy Also Abounds

Mon Oct 10, 2024, 1:15pm

A quick glance at social media reveals a disheartening image of many Las Vegas Raiders supporters after yet another heartbreaking defeat. Some Raiders supporters continue to believe that first-year head coach Antonio Pierce needs more time, while others seem to be tuning out due to what they’re witnessing on the field.

In what could be called a home game on paper only, the Pittsburgh Steelers came into Allegiant Stadium with their faithful fans and steamrolled the Silver and Black. Some argue that the game was closer than the final score of 32-13 indicates. No, let’s be real here: once the Steelers went up, you knew the Raiders offense could not overcome a deficit. Luke Getsy’s unit could not produce any points in the second and third quarters. In case you forgot, it was 22-7 heading into the final quarter of play.

Did Raider Nation feel confident that the Silver and Black could make a comeback at that point?

The Raiders offense just simply isn’t any good, from the offensive line to the playcalling to the quarterback position. No jargon or football terminology is required to break that statement down. However, many within Raider Nation appear to overlook the man at the head of the table. As evidenced by our live poll—which we invite you to partake in—Pierce still needs more time.

As a Raiders fan watching this current team; are you already out on head coach Antonio Pierce?

Will anything change this season for the Raiders and Antonio Pierce?

On the other hand, even though we are only six games into the season, a feeling of apathy is settling in. If we’re being honest, can you blame Raiders fans? There’s nothing being put on the field that’s inspiring fans to have confidence in their team. In reality, this is shaping up to possibly being a double-digit loss record for the Raiders.

The thing about the losses is that they’ve largely been blowouts. If the Raiders had lost these games in a close manner, the situation would be different. You could then argue that the Raiders need to close out games, a skill that develops over time, but in reality, they are consistently outcoached and, to be honest, underperforming.

Something’s got to give.
