Raiders Mock Draft: GM John Spytek Revamps Chip Kelly’s Offense

Mon Mar 03, 2025, 3:11pm

Las Vegas Raiders general manager John Spytek opts to load up the offense with a bevy of young playmakers—it’s time to build offensive coordinator Chip Kelly’s vision.

The quarterback position is generating all of the headlines if you’ve been following the Raiders. For a brief moment, Matthew Stafford appeared to be a viable option; however, as we have repeatedly witnessed, this was not to be. Observers would appear to perceive the Raiders as merely a leverage point. So, the team now has to pivot and find another route. The question is, will Spytek and Co. use the NFL draft to address this issue?

In all likelihood, Cam Ward will be gone by the time the Raiders pick at No. 6–it’s also possible that Shedeur Sanders might be gone as well. A trade is feasible; unlike last year, the quarterback class this time around isn’t garnering the same hype. The crop of quarterbacks in 2024 virtually ensured that the top selections would remain in their current positions—no one was trading out; however, in 2025, things are different. Nevertheless, let’s say a trade doesn’t materialize; this year’s draft will give the Raiders a chance to rebuild their offense with Kelly now taking the reins.

Raiders Mock Draft: Retooling The Silver And Black’s Offense

Round 1: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

As more time goes on, the idea of the Raiders taking Ashton Jeanty seems to be resonating with Raider Nation.

Yes, the running back class is one of the deepest we’ve seen—but Jeanty is more than just a typical player. Spytek would be drafting a true blue-chip prospect that would give Kelly’s offense a layer that Raiders fans haven’t seen in a minute. The gap between Jeanty and the rest of this year’s running backs is quite evident.

Watching Jeanty’s film reveals his exceptional acceleration and explosiveness, which will surpass NFL defenders. However, Jeanty possesses more than just speed; his vision, feet, and movement are noteworthy, and his hands are also weapons in their own right. Kelly has the ability to maximize Jeanty’s pass-catching skills. Another notable feature on film is Jeanty’s strength and agility, as he effortlessly sheds tacklers while maintaining his thrust throughout. Simply put, the kid’s a game changer in waiting.

Round 2: Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford

The Raiders currently possess a nice foundation in terms of their receiving game, most notably tight end Brock Bowers and wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. You also have a speed demon in Tre Tucker. However, Elic Ayomanor from Stanford, fresh from a stellar performance at the NFL combine, adds another layer to Kelly’s offense, similar to Jeanty.

Coming into the pros, Ayomanor already has astounding route running but what makes him lethal is that in addition to the crispness of that aspect, he can create separation downfield with ease. The fact is, Ayomanor is a viable, legitimate vertical option but he’ll also give you something in the middle of the field with his ability to make things happen after a catch. What also helps Ayomanor stand out in terms of his prospects is his blocking—he’s not afraid of contact and can effectively help seal the edge for his fellow running backs—imagine him and Jeanty coming at you?

The Raiders could have something special with this duo from the first two rounds if a trade up for a quarterback prospect doesn’t materialize.
